“Pinocchio 2” Monologue Closes Summer Season of “Monoleev” Festival

Sixth monologue of  Summer season of Leev Theater Group’s Monologue Festival, “Pinocchio 2”, will be staged September 9th in Entezami Hall, Iranian Artists Forum.

“Pinocchio 2” is written and  directed by Nasim Ahmadpour. Mina Doroudian and Reza Asadi accompany Ahmadpour in this play as her assistants. “Pinocchio 2” is played by Ehsan Karami and Naz Shadman.

Leev Theater Group’s Public Relations reports that “Pinocchio 2” will close Summer Monoleev Festival. Fall Monoleev Festival will be opened on October 1st.

Due to the report of Leev Theater Group’s Public Relations, Fall Monoleev Festival will  be staged on Saturdays. Monoleev’s fall schedule will be announced in later news.

Because of performance of “Uncle Vanya” in Entezami Hall, Iranian Artists Forum, “Pinocchio 2” will be staged at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m this week. Tickets will be sold 30 minutes before each performance.

“Monoleev festival continues with “The Past me: Signature

“The Past me: Signature” a monologue by Ali Gholipour will be staged Friday August 26th in Entezami Hall, Iranian Artists Forum.

This play is based on a poem by Yadollah Royayi (the same name) and played by MohammadReza Najafi.

Due to the report of Leev Theater Group’s Public Relations images of this play are done by Ali Tabatabayi and Pouya Jamshidi accompanies him as editor.

“The Past me: Signature” will be staged on Friday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Ticket selling will start 30 minutes before each performance.

Inorganic Confession in Monoleev Festival

“Inorganic confessions” will be staged Friday July 29th in “Monoleev” Festival.

This monologue is written by Mohammad Zareie and Ashkan Jenabi, directed by Ashkan Jenabi and he will also play in it.

This is the second presence of Ashkan Jenabi in Leev Theater Group’s Monologue Festival. Last year he staged “The tale of a tiger” by “Dario Fo” which was a comic translated into Farsi by ” Sadereddin Zahed”.

“Inorganic Confessions” will be staged at  16 p.m. and 18 p.m.

Leev Theater Group’s Workshop in North of Iran

Hassan Madjooni - Head of Leev Theater Group

Some of Leev Theater Group’s members will be traveling to North of Iran in order to expand the Educational activities of this group and to make a closer relationship with the artists outside Tehran on July 2011.

This educational trip was arranged by the personal invitation of some theater artists and Mohammad Hassan Madjooni will hold two workshops on “Acting” and “Directing”.

“Monoleev” Festival hosts “Bleach” monologue

Second monologue of Monoleev’s summer season will be staged Friday July 15th 2011 in Entezami Hall- Iranian Artists Forum
“Bleach” is written and directed by Mehdi Koushki- member of Leev Theater Group- and Ava Sharifi, Mehdi Koushki and Sahra Fathi star in it. Mayram Sepehri- another member of Leev Theater Group- will be accompanying Mehdi Koushi in one of the monologues.

Leev Theater Group Public Relations reports that, last year ”Krouki” another monologue written by Mehdi Koushki and directed by Saeedeh Amirsaie was chosen as “Best Monologue” in Leev Theater Group’s first Monologue Festival. Jury of the first monologue festival were: Mona Zandi, Amir Ahmadi Aryan and Mani Haghighi

“Prince of Grief” will be dedicated to Majid Bahrami

Prince of Grief” – a monologue written by Mohammad Charmshir, directed by Mohammad Aghebati and starring Afshin Hashemi- and its box office money will be dedicated to Majid Bahrami this Thursday July 14th 2011 at City Theater
Majid Bahrami is the young Iranian theater artist who has been diagnosed with cancer and needs to be transformed abroad for further treatment

“Prince of Grief” in City Theater and “Detachment” in East Gallery

Prince of Grief goes to City Theater from “Monoleev”. This monologue will start staging july 10th 2011 in City Hall. “Prince of Grief” is a monologue written by Mohammad Charmshirand directed by Mohammad Aghebati. This monologue is one of the monologues that attended the “Monoleev” Festival in Entezami Hall- Iranian Artists Forum

In this play that will be staged with out the governmental financial support “AfshinHashemi” will act

“Detachment” combination of “arrangement and stage”

Aghebati will also be at East Gallery with “Detachment” performance, which is a part of “30 performance -30 artists- 30 days” project of this Gallery

Hassan Madjooni will perform “My home, cloudy” in “East Gallery” July 5th from 17 p.m. to 22 p.m

My home, cloudy” is a dance performance inspired from NurayerMehrabian’s “Apricot tree”. NurayerMehrabian is a choreographer at National Dance Academy of Armenia and he formed “Apricot Tree” from a piece by “Komitas” the great Armenian Musician

“Linda Sarkisian”, “LinetSarkisian” and “AlmaraShemirian” as dancers,”ShabnamKhoshdel” as choreographer and “Martin Shamoun poor” as musician will perform this event

The Seagull and it’s last night on stage

The Seagull” a play written by Anton Chekhov and directed by Mohammad Hassan Madjooni closed on Apr 29th 2011 after 38 nights in Iranshahr Hall- Iranian Artists Forum

More than 3000 audiences in 38 nights with 96 seats in “Samandarina Hall” watched this play and 85 percent of its tickets were sold-tickets

“Uncle Vanya” another production of Leev Theater Group is still on stage in Iranshahr Hall and has received over 4000 audiences by now

“Leev Theater Group” dedicated two of its performances to “JavadZolfaghari”

Last Wednesday, Leev Theater Group dedicated “Uncle Vanya” and “The Seagull” to the late artist JavadZolfaghari

At the end of the play “The Seagull” the group honored JavadZolfaghari (Theater director, translator, university professor and manager of Norouz e Honar publication) by dedicating that night’s performance to him

Leev’s Public Relations reports that in this ceremony SasanPirouz -Executive Manager of Leev Theater Group- said: “JavadZolfaghari may not be among us but its cultural and spiritual legacy lives on.” He also mentioned that “SamakAyyar” Zolfaghari’s play is being staged at the moment in Molavi Hall with out him as the director. SasanPirouz emphasized that most of Iranian Artists owe their knowledge to Zolfaghari’s performances, books and education

He then continued by saying that “The Seagull” is the result of Mohammad Hassan Madjooni’s workshop in Cinema and Theater University which is the place where BehnoudZolfaghari – Zolfaghari’s son- is studying and asked the audience to stand in the honor of JavadZolfaghari and keep silent for a minute

JavadZolfaghari, Puppet theater researcher and director, translaor, university professor and Manager of Norouz e Honar publication passed away Apr 27th 2011 after a period of illness

Leev Theater Group is holding a Theater workshop in Beheshti University

This workshop that will be held due to the students’ request will be held in different fields such as: Directing, acting, analyzing the text and stage design by Mohammad Hassan Madjooni, Reza Behboodi and other Leev members

Last workshop of Leev Theater Group was with the students of University of Science and Technology that its results was the play “Red and the others” written by Mohammad Yaghoubi and was staged in “Arasbaran” culture house and was received by audience. “The Seagull” which is being staged in Iranshahr Hall is the result of Mohammad Hassan Madjooni’s workshop with the students of Cinema and Theater University.

Leev Theater Group second Monologue Festival

Leev Theater Group is ready to receive applicant texts for attending the Monologue Festival in 2011

The applicants can send their texts and application forms to Leev Theater Group’s website at www.leevtheatergroup.com by the end of March 2011

This year’s Festival juries are Amir Reza Kouhestani, Maryam Majd and NedaRazavipour who will judge 24 monologues during this festival

The first season of Leev’s second Monologue Festival will begin spring 2011 and as before the plays will stage at Entezami Hall -Iranian Artists Forum

Krouki Chosen Monologue of Leev’s First Monologue Festival

The closing ceremony of Leev Theater group’s first Monologue Festival was held yesterday Feb 1st 2011 in Entezami Hall – Iranian Artists Forum

The Chosen Monologue of this festival was “Krouki” written by Mehdi Koushki , directed by SaeedehAmirsaie and played by SaeedChangizian

Two other monologues, “Why doesn’t the universe go further than this?” directed by NaghmehSamimi and played by Mohammad Hassan Madjooni and “Persian Cat” written by Mahin Sadri, directed by ElhamKorda and played by SaeedChangizian were appreciated by the jury.

In this ceremony the group presented its Annual Report of its performing activities and also the complete booklet of the educational sittings of “Introducing World’s Contemporary Theater Directors – Tadeusz Kantor” was available for the audience

The fifth edition of Leev’s Monthly Magazine was also available for sale and in this edition; notes from jurors about Monologue were published

This year’s jurors were: Mani Haghighi, Amir Ahmadi Arian and Mona Zandi

‏‏ Leev Theater Group’s “Viewpoint” workshop based on Anne Bogart method

Leev Theater Group is holding an acting- directing workshop with Akbar Alizad from Theater 84 Group.

This workshop, by the name of “Viewpoint” is based on “Anne Bogart” method and it will be held at Iranian Artists Forum.

“Viewpoint” workshop is for the students and individuals interested in acting and directing but attending in this workshop needs physical fitness and professional experience in Theater.

This workshop will select its attendants through an interview.

To attend the interview, you must fill out the registration form in www.leevtheatergroup.com

Leev Theater Group’s Public Relation reports that the interview will take place Jan, 26, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 14 p.m. in “Amirkhani” hall, Iranian Artists Forum and the deadline for sending the form is until Jan 24.

The report confirms that “Viewpoint” will be held every Thursday from 14 p.m. until 17 p.m. for 10 weeks and every session will be 3 hours.

‏‪”‬RhinoPlasty‪”‬ monologue in ‪Leev’s Monologue Festival

Leev Theater Group’s Monologue Festival continues Friday Dec 7th 2011 with “RhinoPlasty”.

This monologue is directed by Hessam Noorani and written and played by Shahab Zare.

“RhinoPlasty” means nose surgery and theme of the play is about a paranoid man whom after a plain comment by his wife about his nose becomes obsessed on the ugliness of his nose and by this obsession starts reviewing his life.

This play will be staged  at 16 and 18 p.m. in Entezami Hall, Iranian Artists Forum.

The third and fourth issue of Leev Theater Group’s monthly booklet will also be available.

‏A performance of Leev Theater Group in Kantor‪’‬s conference

“Topic of the tenth essay” is a play by Leev Theater Group which will be staged in the conference of “Encountering Tadeusz Kantor”.

This play is written, directed and designed by Mehdi Koushki and Milad Shajareh performs in it.

“Topic of the tenth essay” was produced by Leev Theater Group after an invitation by Shiva Masoudi, chairman of the “Encountering Tadeusz Kantor”conference.

In summer 2010 Leev Theater Group held several educational and research sittings on the subject “Introducing World’s Avant-garde Theater Directors” and began with “Tadeusz Kantor” Polish avant-garde director.

These sittings were movie screening sessions of Tadeusz Kantor’s works which was arranged by the Educational and Research section of Leev Theater Group and it was held every sunday in Iranian Artists Forum.

In these sessions, during a period of six weeks different movies of Tadeusz Kantor’s work were  screened such as “Kantor”, “Return of the Odysseus;rehearsals”,”Tadeusz Kantor’s mannequins”, “Only what you see exists” and “Rehearsals, only rehearsals”. The screening of   movies such as “Wielopole, Wielopole”, “Where are the snows of yester year?” and “Dead Class” were another part of this sessions which were Kantor’s well known works. There were also articles on this subject that most of them have been translated into Persian for the first time and they were available for the audiences.

“Topic of the tenth essay” will be staged on Monday and Tuesday Jan 3rd and 4th at 17 p.m. in Samandarian Hall, Tehran University.

Mannequins of this play were made by Shermin Navabi and Nazanin Hajizadeh is director’s  assistant in this play. Mojtaba Jabari is also the designer of the poster and brochure.

‏‪”‬Red and the others‪”‬the result of Hassan ‪Madjooni’s workshop

“Red and the others” a play written by Mohammad Yaghoubi and ”Shadow – Leev” Theater Group’s production will be staged in Arasbaran Culture House.

This play is the result of Hassan Madjooni’s acting workshop for the students of University of Science and Technology and has been produced by the help of the student branch of Leev Theater Group “Shadow -Leev”.

Leev Theater Group’s Public Relations reports that Hassan Madjooni is the dramaturge and designer of “Red and the others” and Hamed Pazoki and Kaveh Abedin are the directors.

Jalileh Haybatan is the designer and maker of the mask in this play and Sepideh Rankani is the costume designer.

Raha Shirazi from Shadow-Leev Theater Group is the Project Manager and Azadeh Malekzadeh is director’s assistant and stage secretary of the play.

Mani Lotfizadeh is “Red and the others” photographer.

This play will be staged from January 3rd 2011 at 18 p.m.
